Cuttack: In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cuttack district administration on Monday imposed Section 144 at the Madhabananda Jiu temple at Niali ahead of Bhaima Ekadasi Mela.
The rituals of Bhima Ekadasi Mela will be performed on Tuesday.
Section 144 has been imposed up to 200 metres from the temple. It will be in force from 5 pm on February 22 (Monday) to 5 pm on February 24 (Wednesday).
Also, the temple administration has decided to perform all the rituals of Bhaima Ekadasi by following all the Coronavirus guidelines.
Meanwhile, traders near the temple have expressed displeasure over this decision as they will face a huge loss during the Mela days.
