Puri: With weeks left for the festival season, the district administration has imposed Section 30 of Odisha Urban Police Act in Odisha’s Puri for the next 90 days.
The measure has been taken to ensure protection of public peace and safety across the district ahead of the festival season, said sources.
Section 30 of the Urban Police Act will be in force from August 30 to November 27 for 90 days Puri Municipality, Pipli, Konark and Nimapada NAC areas, apart jurisdictional areas of all police stations in the district, said SP Pinak Mishra.
During this period, public assembly, procession, and use of mic and loudspeakers will be considered as a violation, he added.
