Security Agencies Demolish House Of Accused Pulwama Doctor In Red Fort Blast Probe

New Delhi: The residence of Dr Umar Nabi, the prime suspect in the car explosion near the Red Fort, was demolished by security forces early Friday in Koil village, in the south Kashmir district of Pulwama.

Authorities say the action was carried out overnight, after forensic analysis established Dr Nabi’s identity through DNA matching between remains recovered at the blast-site and samples from his mother.

The blast, which occurred on Monday evening, claimed at least 13 lives and caused injuries to several others. Investigators allege the white Hyundai i20 used in the attack was driven by Dr Nabi and was laden with explosives.

Law-enforcement sources further indicate that the demolition is part of a broader counter-terrorism response, aimed at dismantling support networks and sending a strong signal against escalation of such attacks. The house was destroyed using an improvised explosive device (IED) according to official reports.

Investigators are exploring connections between Dr Nabi and associates in the far-Flung case, including calculations of explosive procurement and movement of weapons. They say the case involves several vehicles and links across state borders and into Jammu & Kashmir.

The probe is ongoing, and further actions are expected as security agencies continue to follow leads and interrogate suspects connected to the incident.
