Puri: District police have made elaborate security arrangements for devotees on the occasion of Kartik Purnima in the Pilgrim Town on Monday.
Speaking to media persons on Sunday, district SP Kanwar Vishal Singh said since a large number of devotees will turn up on the day, the police have made arrangements for them keeping COVID-19 pandemic in view.
Seeking the cooperation of the people of the Pilgrim Town and devotees in this regard, the SP said they should follow all the COVID-19 guidelines recommended by the state government. Since congregation on the sea beach is prohibited, he said adequate force would be deployed there to ensure the restrictions.
As many as 15 platoons have been deployed with 50 officers under a DSP rank officer to supervise the arrangements, Singh said. Special arrangements have been made for traffic movement, he added.
