Balasore/Bhadrak: Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place in Balasore and Bhadrak districts to ensure peaceful celebration of Ganesh Puja on Friday.
A company of Odisha Swift Action Force (OSAF) headed by tehsildar Priyabrat Padhi and IIC Kartik Chandra Mallick staged a flag march in Soro of Balasore.
People in both the districts have been advised not to observe the festival with much pomp and show.
Last year, the towns of Balasore and Soro had witnessed communal violence following a clash between two communities during the immersion procession.
Security has also been tightened in Bhadrak district where Ram Navmi celebrations were marred by communal riots earlier this year.
