Bhubaneswar: Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place by Commissionerate Police to ensure smooth Holi celebration in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
“Adequate police personnel will be deployed at major road junctions and several locations in Bhubaneswar to avoid any mishap. Besides, special drives will be launched against anti-socials for ensuring safety of people, particularly women revellers”, Police Commissioner YB Khurania informed.
Khurania said, “Two special teams have also been constituted to conduct surprise raids at various kiosks and shops to prevent selling of harmful and chemical colours. Strict action will be initiated against those selling such colours.”
Fire and ODRAF personnel have been asked to keep vigil near various ghats and other water bodies to thwart incidents of drowning as people usually throng rivers to take bath after playing Holi, the Commissioner added.
