Jodhpur: Security has been beefed up in three states including Rajasthan as the Jodhpur Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe is scheduled to pronounce its verdict on the rape case against self-styled godman Asaram on Wednesday.
The Court has however, rejected a petition seeking entry of media persons inside the Jodhpur Central Jail, where the judgement will be pronounced.
Adequate security arrangements have been made outside the victim’s residence.
Security has also been beefed up outside Asaram rape case victim’s residence.
“We have provided full security and safety to the victim and her family members and are alert,” KB Singh, CO, Shahjahanpur was quoted by ANI.
The security forces also conducted a flag march in Jodhpur ahead of the verdict.
Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana – the three states with large following of Asaram – were asked by the Union Ministry to beef up security ahead of the judgement.
