Koraput: Hours after Maoists blew up a portion of railway tracks in Latehar district of Jharkhand, the joint security forces on Saturday recovered IED making materials from a forest in Koraput district, foiling a blast plan of the rebels.
The materials were recovered from Pujariput forest area on Odisha-Chhattisgarh border area under Boipariguda police limits. The IED materials were concealed and placed on the pavement of an under-construction roadside near Pujariput Chowk on the Ramagiri-Gupteshwar road.
The Special Operation Group of 151 Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) detected the IED with the help of a mine detector and explosive checking dog.
On Friday night, the Maoists had blown up a portion of railway tracks in Latehar district of Jharkhand disrupting train services on Barkakana-Garhwa route around 12.30 am. However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
