Security Guard Shoots Self In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A security guard, who was working with a private firm, allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle at Ganga Nagar under Airport police limits in Odisha capital late on Monday

The deceased has been identified as Krushna Chandra Das.

According to police sources, the incident took place between 12 am and 1 am. The body has been sent to Capital Hospital for postmortem and a scientific team has been engaged to collect clues from the incident site.

While sources said that he took the extreme step due to family problems, his wife told the media that he was under stress after being attacked by some miscreants a few days ago.

She initially restrained him from taking the drastic step and called a PCR van for help. However, Das went outside the house a moment later and pulled the trigger before police present at the spot could react, she added.
