Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested in-charge secretary of Durgadevi Cooperative Society in Balasore, Girish Chandra Behera, for allegedly embezzling government funds to the tune of Rs 5.8 lakh.
The amount under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana was meant to be distributed among 38 farmers in 2021-2023.
A case has been registered against him under Sections 13(2)r/w13(1)(a) of PC (Amendment) Act and 2018/409 of the IPC and further investigation is underway.
