Sonepur: Believe in yourself and strive harder after setbacks to achieve the goal, advises successful OCS aspirant Subhadarshini Pujhahari to the younger generation preparing for the prestigious examination of Odisha.
Subhadarshini, who cleared the Odisha Civil Services examination 2020 in her second attempt, belongs to Sansamura village under Binka block of Subarnapur district. Belonging to a middle class family with farming background, she has been a highly disciplined and hard working student throughout her academic career.
Studying in Saraswati Vidya Mandir at Tarbha since childhood, she passed Matriculation from the school and pursued Plus II in Newton College at Sambalpur. She passed Graduation from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology in Bhubaneswar.
Subhadarshini, who secured 36th rank in the OCS examination, said studying at different places during her career helped her getting adapted to difficult situations in life. “I have seen a lot of adversities in my student life. But I have never lost hope and worked harder to overcome the hurdles. These factors have further strengthened my resolution to achieve my goal of becoming an administrator,” she said.
On whey she opted for civil service as a profession, she said she had made close observation of the issues faced by the people at the grassroots level. “I am not only aware of the problems but also have experienced myself. These experiences have motivated me to become an administrator so that I can find their solutions,” she said.
On the preparation for the OCS examination, Subhadarshini said she knew that it was a tough nut to crack. “I have been preparing hard for the examination. After I could not qualify in my first attempt, I analysed my own weaknesses and worked on those. I also put in extra efforts for the last two years,” she said.
“One should always remain focused on his/her goal despite the adversities. Persistent and tireless efforts can achieve the goal. One must have self-belief and confidence to succeed in any test,” she said.
On her future plans, Subhadarshini said though she was happy with her performance in OCS, she was preparing for Indian Civil Services which has been her ultimate target.
