Bhubaneswar: Three Gaon Sathis allegedly attempted self-immolation by pouring kerosene on their bodies at Lower PMG in Odisha capital on Wednesday.
Police, however, intervened on time and saved the three, before admitting them to the Capital Hospital here.
Notably, Gaon Sathis have been staging a protest in the city for the past 60 days, demanding regularisation of their jobs and a monthly salary of Rs 8,000, though so far the government hasn’t paid much heed to their demands.
They have warned of intensifying their agitation if the demands are not met at the earliest.
