Balasore: A self-proclaimed godman and traditional healer was beaten up at Bulunia village under Manipur Khunta police limits in Balasore district on the suspicion of practising sorcery.
According to information, a woman of the same village, Sushila Khilar, had taken her daughter-in-law to the ashram of the traditional healer identified as Madhusudan Nayak as she was suffering from high fever.
Nayak cured the woman but she died after a few days. Peeved over her death, the irate villagers barged into Madhusudan’s ashram, dragged him out and beat him up.
