Bhubaneswar: In a major development in Sambalpuri album artist Simran Singh’s death case, Burla police on Tuesday took her husband Dhrubaraj Suna on a two-day remand for further investigation.
To get more information, the police will interrogate Suna.
The police had, on January 5, booked Dhrubaraj Suna aka Yug, under the POCSO Act.
Balangir police had detained Yug at Belpada police station for interrogation the previous day on the basis of a complaint lodged by Simran’s family, alleging that she was murdered by him and the body later dumped under a bridge near Goira Matha.
During interrogation, Yug told police that they had tied the knot against their parents’ consent last year. He, however, denied his involvement in her death. Simran’s body was found under Mahanadi Bridge near Goira Matha in Sambalpur.
The 20-year-old had gained popularity for the Sambalpuri music video ‘Selfie Bebo’. She had acted in a number of Sambalpuri album songs.
