Puri: A selfie take inside Puri Jagannath Temple went viral again on
Monday after a youth uploaded the same on social media.
The youth identified as Yugal Kishore Baishnab has posted the selfie
taken inside the 12th-century shrine raising questions on how cell
phones were permitted within the temple premises despite the occurrence of
similar incidents reported in the recent past.
In November this year, several photographs of the shrine’s Jagamohan
repair work went viral on social media after a person identified as
Sadanand Sharma, official of Central Institute of Mining and Fuel
Research, circulated the same on Facebook.
The photographs were taken during scientific investigation inside the
temple to resolve the problems of ventilation and humidity inside the
Jagamohan and sanctum sanctum at the time of Rath Yatra this year.
Earlier in September, woman devotee from West Bengal had also posted
on social media her selfie taken inside the temple.
