Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in North Interior Odisha with Semiliguda in Koraput district recording the lowest of 6.5 degree Celsius on Sunday morning.
Eleven places in the state recorded temperatures 10 degree Celsius or below, Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed on Sunday.
The lowest minimum temperature recorded at different stations are as follows: Kirei in Sundargarh district and Daringbadi in Kandhamal district recorded 8 degree Celsius each followed by Sonepur (8.8), Bhawanipatna (9.2), Jharsuguda (9.4), Keonjhar (9), Koraput (9.5) while Mahisapat in Dhenkanal recorded 9.5 degrees. Angul and Nayagarh recorded minimum night temperature of 10.
The night temperature in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack stood at 12.3 degrees Celsius and 12.2 degree Celsius respectively.
The winter chill is likely to continue for another day with the minimum temperature set to dip by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in Odisha, the MeT office said.
Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar will experience cold wave conditions till 8.30 am on Monday. Yellow warning for dense fog has also been issued for several parts of the state till 8.30 am on Wednesday.
