Puri: Activists of Jagannath Sena staged demonstration near Puri
railway station on Wednesday to protest against the depiction of wrong
picture of Puri Jagannath Temple at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus
(CSMT) in Mumbai.
“It is quite unfortunate that the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism
Corporation (IRCTC) has wrongly depicted the image of the proposed
ISKCON temple, hurting the sentiments of millions of Lord Jagannath
devotees. We demand immediate removal of such poster as such act of
the railway authority is disrespect to the Hindu deity”, said convenor
of Jagannath Sena Priyadarshan Patnaik.
Meanwhile, the IRCTC officials have apologized for the mistake
committed by them and assured that the poster will be removed at the
earliest.
The matter came to the light after a servitor of Puri Jagannath Temple
spotted the poster during his visit to Mumbai and later shared the
image on social media to protest against such move of IRCTC.
