Bhubaneswar: After the curb on zero-night celebrations to check coronavirus from spreading, the Odisha Government on Wednesday issued an advisory for its employees.
The Government employees have been advised to use virtual means for greeting New Year to colleagues and seniors in office.
In a notification, the GA & PG department said “The advisories issued by the government to adopt strict precautionary measures for prevention of spread of COVID-19 has considerably improved the situation. However, due to the renewed threat of infection through the mutant strain of the virus, the advisories have to be maintained in letter and spirit.”
Keeping in view the above, group movements and congregations on New Year day shall be scrupulously avoided in government offices and employees should strictly maintain social distancing norms and use virtual means to convey New Year greetings to colleagues and seniors in office premises, the notification added.
