Senior BJP Leader Samir Dey Admitted In Hospital In Cuttack

Cuttack: Senior BJP leader of Odisha Samir Dey was admitted in hospital after he suddenly fell ill in Odisha’s Cuttack on Friday.

According to sources, Dey was admitted in a private hospital at CDA in Cuttack city after he complained of illness. He was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital, they added.

However, they did not reveal the nature of illness or his present condition.

Dey, a former minister, was elected from Cuttack City Assembly constituency for three times consecutively as BJP candidate. He had successfully contested the Assembly elections in 1995, 2000 and 2004.

He was the Urban Development Minister in the alliance government of BJP and BJD during 2000 to 2004 and Higher Education Minister during 2004 to 2009.
