Malkangiri: A senior police officer of Malkangiri has been detained by Kalahandi police for allegedly ditching a woman constable.
The DSP of Malkangiri Sadar Akshay Nayak was taken for interrogation on the basis of a complaint lodged by a woman constable of Kesinga police station in Kalahandi district. She has also alleged mental harassment by Nayak.
As per the complaint Nayak had married her in a temple when he was posted as SDPO, Kesinga about five years back. Later, he refused to acknowledge their relationship and abandoned her. Following this, she filed a police complaint seeking justice.
Kalahandi SP has directed Kesinga police to conduct an investigation into the incident.
