Puri: Senior journalist Gajendra Maharana breathed his last at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
According to sources, he has been keeping unwell for over a month and had recovered and returned home last week. He, however, fell ill again on Sunday afternoon. He was admitted to the ICU of Amri Hospital but passed away at 8.49 pm.
Maharana was working with vernacular daily Sambad and had been reporting from various districts of Odisha for several years. Post retirement, he settled in Puri in 2000 as the district representative of another vernacular daily Prameya.
He will be cremated at Swargadwar here.
