Bhubaneswar: Mystery shrouds the sudden disappearance of Ramesh Rath, a senior journalist with the Odisha Television Ltd (OTV), from the Odisha capital on Thursday.
According to OTV, he was forcibly picked up by police from near his residence here in the afternoon.
The channel reported that four to five persons, who identified themselves as police, took him to an undisclosed location. His phone was immediately confiscated.
Speculation is rife that he has been picked up by Keonjhar police in connection with Keonjhar MP Chandrani Murmu fake video, which went viral ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The cops had reportedly tracked Rath’s IP address during the probe, sources said.
