Senior NDTV Journalist Kamal Khan Passes Away; Check His Last PTC

Lucknow: Veteran journalist and chief of NDTV’s Lucknow bureau, Kamal Khan passed away after suffering a heart attack at his Butler Colony residence here on Friday. He was 61.

“Sharing this with profound grief, shock and numbness. @kamalkhan_NDTV sir, our long-standing Lucknow bureau chief, rock-solid journalist, someone we all looked up to for his hard-hitting yet poetic report, passed away this morning. Will share more details as and when available,” stated NDTV’s Alok Pandey.

He is survived by his wife, Ruchi, a journalist who works for India TV, and son, Aman.

Khan was conferred with Ramnath Goenka Award and Ganesh Shanker Vidyarthi Award.

The media fraternity and politicians mourned the death of the senior journalist, who was considered a stalwart on matters related to Uttar Pradesh.

“No one spoke Hindi like Kamal bhai. Devastating,” wrote India Today TV Consulting Editor Rajdeep Sardesai.

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati and Delhi chief mister Arvind Kheriwal also express grief over his demise.

“It is very sad to hear about the demise of eminent journalist Kamal Khan ji… my deepest condolences. Praying to God to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this loss,” tweeted Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
