Jeypore: With the airport expansion work at Jeypore moving at a smooth pace, Principal Secretary, Revenue, Bishnupada Sethi visited the airstrip on Friday to survey the progress.
Once it gets operational, Jeypore will become the third place in the state to get an airport after Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda. The runway is being expanded to 2,300 metre to start commercial flight services from the airstrip.
Sethi was accompanied by senior officers Arvind Agrawal and R Raghuprasad. Koraput District Magistrate Mohammad Afdul Akhtar, senior officials from Irrigation, Forestry, Agriculture, Revenue and Transport were present and shared their ideas.
