Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Tuesday nabbed a senior revenue assistant of Kodala tehshil office in Ganjam distrct for allegedly taking Rs 6,000 bribe from a man to process a file.
The accused, identified as Sanjaya Kumar Sethy, was apprehended by Vigilance officials while demanding and accepting Rs 6,000 from a complainant for processing a file for issuance RoR in favor of him.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from exclusive possession of the accused and seized, a vigilance release said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Sethy, it said.
In this connection, a case has been registered at Berhampur Vigilance police station and investigation is underway.
