Bhubaneswar: A senior doctor, Prof Anup Satpathy, succumbed to COVID-19 at the SUM COVID hospital here on Saturday morning.
Satpathy was the Head of the Department of Dentistry at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR).
Sources said Satpathy was admitted to VIMSAR on May 1 after he tested positive for COVID-19. As his condition began to deteriorate, he was referred to Ashwini COVID hospital in Bhubaneswar on May 8 and later shifted to SUM COVID hospital on May 15 in a critical condition and kept in the ventilator.
