Seoul: The night clubs, hostess bars and discos in Seoul have been closed for a month after a man, who had visited the clubs unprotected, later tested corona positive.
More than 2,100 clubs and bars had to pull down the shutters after 18 new coronavirus cases were found linked to the 29-year-old man. He visited three clubs in Seoul’s Itaewon district without wearing a face mask on Tuesday.
Officials have appealed to the people who visited the Itaewon clubs between April 29 and May 6 to go for screening tests and not come out of their residences to prevent transmission of the virus.
The clubs and bars had opened last weekend after the government relaxed social distancing guidelines. But those places were advised to follow preventive measures like social distancing and wearing face masks.
