Dhenkanal: In a rare act of bravery, a Sepoy of 2nd Special Security Battalion, Keonjhar saved the lives of passengers of a bus from a gun-toting miscreant.
According to sources, Sepoy Himansu Sekhar Patra was travelling as a civilian in the bus from Cuttack to Bhuban in Dhenkanal district. On the way, some miscreants stopped the bus and one of them brandishing a pistol threatened the bus driver.
As the passengers got panicked, Patra rushed to the driver and snatched away the gun from the miscreant. However, the miscreants managed to flee.
Dhenkanal SP in-charge Jagmohan Meena said an FIR has been registered in this connection and raids are underway to nab the accused. He also praised the brave act of Sepoy Patra.
