Bhubaneswar: A series of accidents on the busy Vani Vihar flyover led to damage of four two-wheelers and three cars on Wednesday. Two persons have been detained in this connection.
As per reports, driver of a car, who was driving the vehicle in an inebriated state, hit a motorcycle at Vani Vihar flyover and sped away towards Khurda. On receiving information, police chased the vehicle in an interceptor vehicle.
In an attempt to escape from police, the driver zoomed on the flyover towards Baramunda and in the process hit three other bikes and three cars at the Fire Station flyover.
Police managed to intercept the speeding car and detain the driver as well co-passenger, both of whom were in an inebriated state.
While four bikes have been completely damaged, three cars have partially damaged. However, there was no casualty, police said.
The identity of the two detainees was not immediately known.
