Berhampur: A serological survey camp was conducted for the personnel of Berhampur Police to analyse the extent and penetration of COVID-19 infection.
About 200 blood samples were collected from about 200 police officials including the Superintendent of Police Pinaki Mishra for analysis, sources said. The Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) with support of BeMC came together to organise this serological surveillance campaign. Five teams of both RMRC and BeMC are involved in the process.
The primary objective of this serological study is to get an idea regarding the prevalence of COVID-19 antibodies among the police staff who are continuously serving the society by playing their part in effective COVID management, the sources said.
The five-day serological survey was started in Berhampur by Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) since August 4.
