Bhubaneswar: A servitor sustained minor injuries after falling off Rukuna Ratha when the procession was in progress during Ashokastami festival of Lord Lingaraj on Sunday.
The Dahuka servitor of Rukuna Ratha has been identified as Narasingha Khuntia, aged about 70-year-old.
The incident took place when the chariot was taking a turn near Badheibanka Chhack in Old Town area.
Though arrangements were made to quickly take him to the Capital Hospital, Khutia returned midway after his health improved. Later, he took part in the chariot pulling ritual.
Pulling of the chariot resumed at around 2:25 pm to reach Mausima temple.
The chariot was stationed near Mukteswar temple after its rope snapped thrice on Saturday.
