New Delhi: As if to remind the powers-that-be they are here for the long haul, farmers have started building brick houses near the Delhi border, where they have been protesting against the contentious farm laws since November 26 last year.
Around 25 houses have already come up along the Tikri border, near Haryana. And many more are being planned.
“These houses are strong, permanent just like the will of the farmers… 25 houses have been built, while 1000-2000 similar houses will be constructed in the coming days,” Kisan Social Army’s Anil Malik told mediapersons.
Farmers are having to pay for the construction material only, as labour is being provided free. The cost of building a house is around Rs 20,000-25,000.
Kisan Social Army is taking the initiative to help the farmers get a permanent roof over their head at the Tikri border.
