Kamakhyanagar: A Sevashram School headmaster at Rodang in Kerejoli panchayat under Kankadahad block in Dhenkanal district is alleged to have embezzled mid-day meal fund meant for students. There are 221 students from classes I to Class VIII in the school.
According to school management committee president Kandarpa Sethi, headmaster Prabhas Kumar Balia has been blatantly misappropriating school’s mid-day meal fund and diverting school grants for personal use and the matter has been reported to the Block Development officer. Mid-day meal ration was diverted fraudulently during Covid-19 pandemic period when the school was closed, said Sethi and demanded that the headmaster be transferred from the school immediately in the best interests of the school.
Kankadahat Block Education officer Harihar Dehuri has alleged that all the irregularities in the school should be investigated thoroughly and the school committee members are constantly at loggerheads with the HM on the issue of graft. The committee members’ fight with the headmaster over corruption issue has also been recorded on camera, adds Dehuri.
Tikili Nayak, a representative of parents, has alleged that the headmaster has been embezzling Sevashram students’ money which has been the cause of conflict in the school.
