Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday decided to allow the opening of seven dance bars in the capital city.
Informing this to the media here, the Excise Superintendent, Khurda, Prasanna Acharya said the owners of these seven dance bars have been asked to run the bars under the guidelines of Section 44(5) of the Excise Act.
“We have told the owners not to employ any girl below the age of 21 years. The bar girls must not wear provocative dresses while performing. Besides, the owners have been told to ensure that the customers at the bar must not throw currency notes at the bar girls under any circumstances. Violation of any of these guidelines will invite stern action,” Acharya pointed out.
He further said that the bar owners have also been asked to provide identity cards to all the bar girls for detailed information.
