Seven Juveniles, Two Others Arrested For Physically-Challenged Man’s Murder In Odisha’s Puri

Puri: Police on Wednesday arrested nine persons in connection with the alleged murder of a differently-abled person, Harihar Sahu, in Odisha’s Puri.

According to police, seven of the 11 accused are minors, while two others are on the run. The murder was a result of a family dispute pertaining to ‘Khaja’ business.

The adult arrestees were identified as Bijay Khuntia (45) and Rakesh Khuntia (20).  A sword, two knives, and a dagger were seized from possession of the accused. The minors, aged between 15 and 17, have criminal antecedents, police said.

Puri SP Pinak Mishra expressed concern over a surge in juvenile crimes in the district and said the police will chalk a counselling plan in this regard.
