Bhubaneswar: A poem written by seven-year-old Odia girl Olivia Bhadra, who studies in Charles Darwin Primary School, Norwich (UK), has become part of an anthology ‘Friendly Monsters’.
The poem, titled “Eggy’s description”, has not only made her parents and school proud, but also family members in faraway Baripada, their ancestral home.
A copy of the book, published by Young Writers, will be sent to the British Library, London, for reference.
The publishers have also made a small video on Olivia and how she wrote the poem which got selected from thousands of entries from across UK for this prestigious publication.
Olivia, who will be start her third year (Y3) next month in the Norwich school, has a passion for writing and has written quite a few stories besides poems. Her other hobbies are drawing, craft and swimming.
Her father Deepak Bhadra is an IT professional working in an Indian MNC while mother Naimisha is employed with a UK company. They are from Baripada and currently on international assignment in the UK, based in Norwich.
