Several Feared Trapped Inside Coal Mine In Assam, Rescue Underway

Guwahati: Several people are feared to be trapped inside a coal mine in the Umrangso area of Assam’s Dima Hasao district on Monday, reports claimed.

According to Mayank Kumar Jha, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Dima Hasao, the exact number of individuals trapped or affected in the incident is yet to be ascertained.

“Several people feared trapped inside a coal mine in the Umrangso area in the Dima Hasao district. We can’t say the exact figure as of now,” Jha told ANI.

Water gushed into the mine, leaving the workers stranded underground, reported the Republic. Immediately, rescue operations were started. Rescue efforts are underway.
