Several Houses Damaged As Nor’wester Hits 2 Villages In Odisha’s Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: Several houses were damaged nor’wester hits two villages in the district on Tuesday evening.

According to sources, wind with high velocity accompanied by rain lashed Kusumi village under Jharigaon block and Khadarapani village under Telnadi panchayat in the district at around 5 pm.

The asbestos roof of a villager and that of Anganwadi centre in Kusumi village were blown away due to the nor’wester. Similarly, the asbestos roof of two villagers in Khadarpani were also totally damaged by the heavy wind.

The two villages experienced sand storm due to the nor’wester, affecting normal activities. It was followed by heavy rain in the area, bringing relief from scorching heat for the last few days.
