Several Organisations Observe 24-Hr Bandh In Salepur Over Road Construction

Salepur: Business and vehicular movement came to a grinding halt in Salepur of Cuttack district as several organisations called a 24-hour bandh to protest delay in road construction in the locality.

Bus passengers suffered severe inconvenience as buses stayed off the roads due to the shutdown.

The activists were seen picketing and staging road blockades at different places, thereby paralysing movement of both light and heavy vehicles.

However, emergency services were kept out of the purview of the strike.

“The district administration is not paying any heed to complete construction work of the main road in Salepur. As a result, people of the locality are facing a lot of difficulties in commuting. Students and office goers are the worse sufferers during the peak hours due to the bad condition of the road. Although the construction work for the road had started long ago, it is yet to be complete by the officials concerned”, a protestor alleged.
