Cuttack: Several students were injured in a clash between two groups during a cricket match at Ravenshaw University in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Thursday.
As per sources, some students sustained injuries in the clash. They were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
The incident reportedly took place during a cricket match between the boarders of two boys’ hostels on the university campus in the evening. An argument erupted between the two groups following a dispute over a decision of the umpire during the match.
The situation took an ugly turn within minutes and a violent clash took place between the two groups, causing injuries to several students from both sides.
On being informed, a team from Malgodown police station and senior officials of the university reached the spot and sent the injured students to hospital.
The police have launched a probe into the incident and intensified patrolling in the area to prevent any further flare up.
