Puri: The police on Tuesday busted a sex racket in the town, rescued two young girls and arrested three persons.
Acting on a complaint filed by a girl, the police raided a room in Krishna Sea Site apartment in Baliapanda area where the racket was operating. They arrested three persons from the room while one escaped.
The preliminary investigation revealed that young girls were brought from Khurda district by the middlemen and engaged in flesh trade in Puri.
The police also seized Rs 4,200 in cash, some medicines and objectionable items from the room and a Scorpio belonging to the racketeers.
The accused have been identified as Chinmaya Swarup Panda from Jajpur Road, Sunil Kumar Samal from Balichandrapur and Chinmaya Ranjan Rout from Panikoili.
