Sex Racket Busted In Balasore, 4 Detained

Balasore: Police on Thursday busted a sex racket and detained four persons at Nahanjara village under Singla police limits in Balasore district.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a surprise raid on a house and took four persons, including a girl and the owner of the house, into custody, besides seizing many objectionable items.

“After getting information about the illegal activities, our team raided the spot and successfully nabbed these persons. Investigations are on to trace other people who are connected with the racket”, a police officer informed.

On May 19, the police had uncovered a high-profile sex racket running in guise of a spa at Bapuji Nagar in Bhubaneswar. Seven persons were arrested from the spot and eight Thai women rescued.

Later, the Thai women were served ‘Quit India’ notice by the Commissionerate Police and asked to leave the country immediately.

The special squad of Commissionerate Police had also busted a similar prostitution racket at Gajapati Nagar in Odisha capital on May 18 and rescued three girls. Three youths were arrested in this connection.
