Sex Racket Busted In Odisha’s Khurda, 7 Held



Khurda: In a major crackdown, police busted a sex racket operating in Bikash Nagar area of Odisha’s Khurda town on Thursday and took into custody seven persons, including the alleged kingpin.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Khurda Model Police Station and the Special Squad carried out a raid at a hous

e where the illegal activity was reportedly being carried out for the last several days.

During the search, the police team apprehended seven people, including three women, suspected to be engaged in the sex trade, and four customers present at the house. The alleged kingpin of the sex racket was also reported to have been taken into custody.

Sources said the racket had been functioning discreetly from the rented accommodation. Police had received specific inputs about the operation, following which surveillance was mounted before the raid was conducted.

Police officials are interrogating the detained persons to ascertain whether more people are involved in the racket. Further investigation is underway.
