Rourkela: A sex racket, operating from a house within Rourkela city limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, was busted on Tuesday with the police arresting a man and rescuing six women.
According to sources, a joint team of the Chhend police and special squad laid a trap and conducted a raid to apprehend the accused red-handed from a house at Chhend Colony in the steel city after receiving a tip-off about the illegal activities.
The teams of officials rescued six women from the house and arrested an alleged customer. Preliminary investigation revealed that all six women were residents of West Bengal.
However, the kingpin managed to flee from the spot during the raid and efforts are on to nab him.
Notably, the sex racket was being operated in the house over the past three months.
