Baripada: A sex racket was busted with the arrest of a man who was allegedly operating the illegal trade in Karanjia area of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
The accused, identified as Gopinath Choudhary, was allegedly running the sex racket from a rented house in Gada Sahi locality of Karanjia, according to sources.
The man was arrested when a police team carried out a raid at the rented house after a video of a client bargaining with him over the charges for a sex worker went viral.
The accused, a native of Kendrapada district, has been staying in Karanjia for the last several years.
Though Choudhary was earlier selling ayurvedic medicines, over the last several months he had been running the sex racket from his rented house by getting sex workers from places like Bhubaneswar and Jamshedpur, the sources added.
