New Delhi: Delhi Police personnel took one of the protesting wrestlers to accused Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s residence to recreate the sequence of events leading to alleged sexual harassment.
The female wrestler was accompanied by women constables.
“At 1.30 pm, women officers took the wrestler to Brij Bhushan’s official residence in Delhi. They were there for half an hour. They asked her to recreate the scene and recall the places where she faced harassment,” PTI quoted sources as saying.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Delhi Police, which is probing sexual harassment charges against the BJP MP from Kaiserganj (UP), is likely to submit investigation reports in the two cases registered against him to the court by next week.
SIT members have questioned around 180 people, according to Delhi Police officials.
Olympic medallists Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Vinesh Phogat are among a group of wrestlers who had been protesting against Brij Bhushan, demanding his arrest for allegedly sexually harassing seven female grapplers, including a minor.
The protesting wrestlers on Wednesday agreed to suspend their agitation till June 15 after Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur assured them that a chargesheet will be filed against Brij Bhushan by then and WFI elections held by the end of the month.
