Chennai: Special DGP Rajesh Das, who hails from Odisha, has been accused of sexually harassing a woman IPS officer.
The Tamil Nadu government has formed a committee to probe the allegation and put Das on the ‘compulsory waitlist’.
According to media reports, the 1989-bath IPS officer allegedly tried to assault her in his car during an event of Chief Minister Palaniswami. She was in charge of the programme, while Das was entrusted with the security of the event.
The officer lodged a written complaint against Das on February 22.
The News Minute reported that the state’s IPS fraternity, including the IG, allegedly made multiple attempts to dissuade the survivor from filing a formal complaint.
