Cuttack: The principal of Cuttack College at Naya Bazaar, Keshav Chandra Sahu, found himself in a soup after a girl student accused him of harassing her sexually and forcing her to undergo an abortion after impregnating her.

The victim, Plus III second-year student, has written to the Secretary of the Higher Education Department in this regard and sent copies to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), DGP, Women Commission and Chief Secretary.

The Regional Education Director, Bhubaneswar, has been asked to probe the incident and submit a report at the earliest.

According to the complainant, the accused had forcibly established a physical relationship with her by threatening to fail her in the examinations. He would often ask her to come to his chamber When she conceived, he threatened to kill her and forced her to undergo an abortion.

The victim further alleged that he had been asking her to accompany him to Mumbai by blackmailing her with obscene photos.

In the letter, she demanded strong action against the principal and sought protection citing a threat to her life.

The principal, however, refuted the allegations, saying that there is no student by the girl’s name in the institution.

“It is being done deliberately using a fake name to defame me. A staffer of the college might have written the letter to tarnish the image of the college. I am ready to face any investigation,” he said.
