Jeypore: Girl students of a private college in Odisha’s Jeypore town have accused the principal of sexually harassing them.
According to the complaint filed by 13 hostel inmates of the college with Jeypore Town Police, the principal, Deepak Patnaik, has been sexually harassing them for last 8 eights and also threatened to fail them in examinations if they disclosed the matter. The principal is said to have also misbehaved parents of some of these students.
While a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 376, 294, 324 and 506 of the IPC and POCSO Act, raids are underway at various places in the town to apprehend the principal, who is absconding.
Some students, who were held hostage by the accused, were also rescued by the police from the college hostel, sources said.
