Shah Rukh Khan Jokes About ‘King’ Being Sandwiched Between ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ And ‘Dune Part 3’

Mumbai: With ‘King’ set to arrive in theatres alongside major Hollywood releases ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Dune Part 3’, Shah Rukh Khan has made it clear that he is unfazed by the competition.

During his latest #AskSRK session, the actor jokingly described King as the “center ki tasty Tikki” in the release-date sandwich.

The superstar also gave fans an update on the film’s progress while discussing his injuries during the shoot, the much-awaited trailer, music and VFX work.

During the interaction, a fan drew a humorous comparison, asking SRK if King felt like the filling in a sandwich between Avengers: Doomsday and Dune Part 3, and whether the film’s release date might change.

The superstar dismissed the concern with a witty response, saying, “Not at all….Baaki bread pieces ka bhi toh socho….hum toh center ki tasty Tikki hain.”

When asked about the most difficult part of shooting King, SRK revealed that injuries made the filming process challenging, forcing him to stop and restart work on several occasions. The actor added that he has now recovered and the film is almost complete.

SRK wrote, “Had a few injuries while shooting so had to start stop many times but now all broken is fixed…and nearly all done…so all good.”

With the film now 100 days away from its release, a fan asked SRK what he was most looking forward to showing audiences.

Rather than highlighting one particular element, the actor said he wanted fans to experience the film as a complete package.

He added, “Everything in King …worked very hard to entertain as many as possible. The action the songs the actors and of course my hair!!!”

Fans have been eagerly waiting for the King trailer, and SRK also addressed the delay during the interaction. He explained that the team was taking its time to ensure the trailer does justice to the film.

He quipped, “Ab picture hi dekho na! Tarsa nahi raha join acchhi wali bana raha hoon….ke Dil ko tasalli mile….Sab ayega…24th Dec se pehle.”

The update suggests that the King trailer and other promotional material will arrive before the film releases on December 24.

A fan then cheekily asked whether SRK or director Siddharth Anand was to blame for the delayed teaser or poster. While SRK stood up for his director, he jokingly admitted that the delay could actually be on him.

“Sid toh bechara laga hua hai. Late bhai hain…taking time to put our best foot forward so u all enjoy it and feel proud and happy with King,” he added.

SRK also revealed that he has been actively involved in the VFX work, constantly pushing the team as they put the finishing touches on the film.

He wrote, “Troubling RC Vfx a lot. Sitting on Harry and Keiten head to deliver the best. I think they might ban me from coming to the office late nights soon.”

Teasing fans about the action sequences, SRK said, “Yeah action is very big and Sid has really worked hard on it. But I hope the emotions and comedy appeal to you all also.”

He added, “Ha ha main toh normally wire se latak raha hota hoon….harness pe! Sirf Director hi bolta hai…humari toh bolti bandh hot hai…also Sid shouts toooo loud so nobody can hear us only.”

Headlined by Shah Rukh Khan, King boasts an ensemble cast featuring Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi and Anil Kapoor.

Backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on December 24, 2026.
